Round clusters of sweetly scented, sterile white flowers give Viburnum opulus 'Roseum' its distinctive snowball appearance. The flowers do not set berries but provide a long flowering display in May and June, attract pollinators, and work well as cut blooms. Hardy and low-maintenance, the shrub reaches about 4 m and develops russet to purple autumn foliage. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it prefers full sun and moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil; keep well watered during establishment and trim in summer if needed.
