The mini lime tree is a delightful citrus plant with glossy evergreen foliage that provides a lovely backdrop to its clusters of fragrant waxy blossoms in spring. Ideal for a conservatory or well-lit windowsill, it can also be moved to a warm patio during summer. The tree produces vitamin C-rich limes that take about a year to develop, perfect for juices, jams, chutneys, and baking. The fruits also offer an ornamental display in addition to their culinary uses. Best planted in a container with a mix of ericaceous compost and neutral soil-based compost like John Innes No. 3, the tree thrives in full sun or partial shade. Keep the plant well-watered in summer and feed with citrus fertiliser every two weeks. Supplied in a 9cm nursery pot, it can reach up to 1.5m in height and 1.2m in spread if unrestricted.
